Raúl González Blanco, Raúl said, is a Spanish international footballer born June 27, 1977 in Madrid, who plays as a striker for German club Schalke 04.
Considered the best Spanish player and one of the best players in football history, Raul is best known as the iconic number 7 and captain of Real Madrid that he will leave in 2010 after sixteen years at the club . He holds the record for most games played (741) and goals scored for "merengue" (323). It is also the top scorer of all time in the Champions League with 71 goals, competition he won three times and the top scorer in the Spanish league activity.

Childhood and Beginnings  Raul Gonzalez grew up in a modest family in Colonia Marconi, San Cristobal de Los Angeles, a poor neighborhood of Madrid. Here he began playing football in 1988.
